How To Prepare For Your Luxury Boudoir Photo Session

Preparing for you Luxury Boudoir Photography Session

A boudoir photo shoot is an intimate and personal experience, and it’s essential to prepare properly for the session to get the most out of it. Rayven Jade Photography is a luxury boudoir photographer based in Prince George, and I’m here to guide you through the process of preparing for your boudoir shoot and what to expect during your session.

How To Mentally Prepare For Your Boudoir Photography Session

So there is the usual prep for a Boudoir Photo Session, pick your outfits, drink lots of water, get rest… etc… we will get to that in a moment… But then there is the mental prep…

Whether you’ve got a date on the calendar for your boudoir sesh, or you’re still on the look-out for the right time, place and photographer (hey girl — I am a Prince George Boudoir Photographer!), the mental preparation is probably the most important part.

Decide WHY You Want A Boudoir Session, Make it a Selfish Reason!

Yes, that is correct, I said it.. Do this for YOU!!!  We are alllll guilty of not giving ourselves enough attention, love and well….. respect. So when you book your boudoir photo session, even if it’s for a bridal gift, anniversary album or partner sort of gift, make sure YOU consider what YOU can get out of it.

  • Pampering yourself (treat yourself vibes only at our boudoir photo shoots)
  • Celebrating you
  • Boosting your confidence
  • Honoring your latest struggle, and the fact that you conquered it
  • Having fun (mimosas anyone?!)
  • Just because!

You love your partner and want to give them all of you… but the most important person you should love and take care of… is YOU!

How To Prepare For Your Boudoir Photo Shoot

  1. Choose your outfits

Your outfits are an essential part of the boudoir experience, and they can greatly impact the final result of your photos. Consider bringing a variety of outfits, such as lingerie, nightgowns, and comfortable loungewear. Think about what makes you feel comfortable, confident, and sexy. You can also bring accessories, such as jewelry, high heels, or a fur coat, to add some extra oomph to your photos.  I also offer a Client Closet that has many items from sizes xs-4xl!

  1. Hair and makeup

Hair and makeup play a significant role in a boudoir photo shoot, as they can help enhance your features and create the desired mood. Consider having your hair and makeup done professionally before the shoot to feel pampered and confident. I offer in studio professional makeup and hair services! If you’re not comfortable with professional hair and makeup, you can always do your hair and makeup yourself. Just make sure it’s done to your liking and you feel confident in your appearance.

  1. Relax and pamper yourself

Before the boudoir shoot, take the time to relax and pamper yourself. Treat yourself to a spa day, get a massage, or take a long bath. This will help you feel refreshed and rejuvenated before the shoot.

  1. Get plenty of rest

Getting enough rest is crucial to feeling confident and energized during your boudoir shoot. Make sure to get plenty of sleep the night before and arrive at the shoot well-rested.

During the Shoot

  1. Communication with the photographer

At Rayven Jade Photography, we strive to create a comfortable and relaxed environment for our clients. During the shoot, feel free to communicate about what you’re comfortable with and what you’d like to see in the final result. I will work with you to create the best possible experience and photos.

  1. Trust your photographer

During the shoot, trust your photographer to guide you through the process and pose you in a flattering way. Your photographer knows what works best for the camera and will make sure you look your best in every photo.  Sometimes a pose will feel really awkward to do… but the final photos turns out awesome! And trust me when I say Do Your Stretches! lol You will be bending and arching like never before!

  1. Be yourself

Boudoir photography is all about capturing your unique beauty and personality, so be yourself during the shoot. Let your natural expressions and movements shine through in the photos.

  1. Have fun

Finally, remember to have fun during the boudoir shoot! It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and you should enjoy every moment of it.

After the Shoot

  1. Review the photos

After the boudoir shoot, you’ll get the opportunity to review the photos with your photographer. This is your chance to provide feedback and select the photos you’d like to include in your final album.

  1. Choose your favorite photos

Your final album will include the best photos from the shoot, so take the time to choose your favorite shots. Consider what photos you’d like to display in your home or share with loved ones.

  1. Enjoy the final result

After the final album is complete, it’s time to enjoy the final result of your boudoir shoot. Whether you choose to display your photos in your home or keep them private, they
