As a experienced Prince George Newborn Photographer, I have worked with many new parents to capture those precious moments in their newborn photo sessions. Understanding Newborn Photos

Newborn photos have become increasingly popular over the years and I have had the privilege of welcoming many newborns and their families in my Prince George Newborn Photography studio. Parents want to capture those precious moments of their newborns, and as a photographer, I understand how important these photos are to them.  Newborn photo sessions typically take place within the first two weeks after birth, while the baby is still sleepy and curly, which makes for the perfect photo opportunity. As a photographer, I always recommend scheduling a newborn photo session ahead of time to ensure that you get the best possible photos of your little one.

What to Expect During a Newborn Photo Session

As a parent, you may be wondering what to expect during a newborn photo session. First and foremost, it is essential to note that newborns are unpredictable, and it is normal for them to be fussy during the session. A newborn photo session can last up to three hours, depending on the baby’s mood and feeding schedule. As your Prince George Newborn Photographer, I will work with and communicate with you during your pregnancy and after baby has arrived. I have a Prep Guide that I have created specifically for Newborn Photo Sessions, that I will send you. This guide will give you tips and tricks to prepare for your newborns photos session. Following the guide the best you can, will usually ensure a smooth session that will allow me to capture many beautiful images. Sometimes though, a baby may just be having a extra fussy day. Perhaps they are a bit more gassy, or having a growth spurt and are extra hungry. I have many tricks and a TON of patience that usually allows me to still be able to capture many sweet photos of your new little one, even if they are a tad more fussy during their photo session. Sometimes, but rarely, will need to postpone your session, and just coming back the following day can make a huge difference. Most importantly, don’t stress Mama! I always guarantee I will capture beautiful images for you!

The Role of the Photographer

As a photographer, my job is to create a comfortable and relaxed environment for both the baby and parents. I work closely with parents to understand their vision and ensure that I capture the perfect shots. I also have experience working with fussy babies and understand how to calm them down during the session. As a photographer, I have many tricks up my sleeve, such as white noise, swaddling, and rocking, to keep the baby calm and relaxed.  My Prince George, BC, based Photography Studio is set up specifically for Newborn Photography sessions as well. I have everything needed in my studio for your baby during their photo session.

Understanding Fussy Babies

It is normal for babies to be fussy during a photo session. There are many reasons why a baby may be fussy, such as hunger, discomfort, or even a dirty diaper. As a photographer, I understand that a fussy baby can be stressful for parents, but it is essential to remember that it is entirely normal. I always take breaks during the session to allow the baby to settle and calm down.  Newborn Photography sessions can take up to 3 hours. This can seem like a long time for photos, but it allows me to take my time, be patient and make sure baby is safe and comfortable during their session.  Babies like to sleep and some can fall into a lovely deep sleep and even when moving them, they don’t wake up. Other babies can be very sensitive to touch, and just touching their fingers jolts them awake. These babies just tend to need a little extra time and patience. This is all completely normal!

Assuring New Parents

For new parents, a newborn photography session can be stressful. You want everything to go perfectly, and you want to capture those perfect moments of your little one. However, it is essential to remember that a fussy baby is perfectly normal during a photo session. As a Prince George Newborn photographer that specializes in Newborn Photography, I have worked with many fussy babies and have always managed to capture beautiful photos of them. I understand how to work with babies and create a comfortable environment for them, ensuring that the session runs smoothly.
